Classy Coastal Designs is a mixed media studio working in seashells, sea glass, acrylic paint and other natural materials. Every piece is an original design made for the home, built around themes of nature, family, friendship and love.
I believe art should be accessible to everyone, so prices range from $10 to $200 and above. New products are added to the collection all the time, and the most popular pieces are the pictures made from hand-painted seashells and genuine sea glass.
Alongside the pictures there are magnets made from hand-painted seashells, hair barrettes, decorated picture frames and seasonal ornaments, all made by hand in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Beachcombed
Shells and genuine sea glass are gathered by hand along the Florida shoreline. The shells are cleaned and sorted by quality, colour, size and shape.
Designed
Shells, sea glass and painted backgrounds are all one of a kind pictures that are designed and inspired by multiple themes such as family, friendship and nature.
Hand-painted
Each shell is painted freehand in acrylics, layer by layer, until it carries its own pattern. No two shells are ever painted the same way.
Signed
Every finished piece is signed by the artist, so the one you take home is the only one of its kind.
Framed
The finished piece of ocean art is set into a coastal frame or shadow box, depending on the artist’s vision, and made ready to hang in your home.
Shipped
Each piece is wrapped carefully and shipped from Boynton Beach, Florida. Local pickup and delivery can also be arranged.

Debbie Shalom, welcome to my creative corner.
I like to say I have been a full-time artist my whole life, I just happened to take a few fun detours through education, training and career coaching along the way.
My path has always been wonderfully varied, with different seasons of my life sparking new interests in different mediums. I have crafted fine jewelry and worked with oils, pastels and acrylics. I also have a deep love for hands-on crafts: sewing clothes, hand quilting and knitting. Whether I am creating for personal enjoyment or for home decor, I am endlessly inspired by the beauty around me, especially among the trees, flowers and quiet corners of nature.
About six years after "retiring", I realised I needed a new outlet for my creativity. One day I discovered a brand new passion: hand-painting seashells and turning them into original works of art. Then came another inspiring discovery, sea glass. Now I spend my days playing with sea glass, shells and other materials to design pictures that celebrate love, family, friendship and nature. Every piece I make is made with a lot of passion and a bit of beachy magic.

Weddings, anniversaries, new homes, a friendship, a family, a favourite flower. Commissions start at $150 and can be made in any size, including pieces larger than 18x24 in. You will see a sketch and a final price before any shell is glued.

Yes. Every picture, shadow box, magnet and barrette is made by hand from shells and sea glass found on the beach, so no two are ever identical. Even when a design repeats, the materials and painting are different.
Absolutely. Commissions are a favourite part of the work: names, dates, a family, a wedding, a friendship, a favourite flower. Send a message with your idea and I will sketch a design and confirm the price and size before starting.
